Cookie Policy

The cookies and similar technologies our website uses

Cookies are small files that a website can store on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in a similar way. This policy explains what our website uses and why.

Our public website

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not store anything in your browser's local storage.

Our website sets one cookie of its own on the public side, and only when you make a booking, including an Event booking: "pd_my_bookings" remembers your My bookings link in this browser, so your confirmation page, and any later bookings you make from the same browser, can show your bookings. It is only sent to our booking pages, cannot be read by other scripts, and expires after 90 days, or sooner if you delete it. On a shared computer, anyone using the same browser could open that link, so please delete the cookie when you've finished. It's necessary for the My bookings service you asked for.

Staff sign-in

Our staff area uses strictly necessary cookies to keep authorised staff securely signed in. They are only set when a member of staff signs in, and are not used for any other purpose. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent.

Paying online

When you pay online (for a table booking, an Event booking, a change to a booking or a party), the card payment form is provided by our payment processor, Square, and loads from Square's servers when the payment page opens. Square may set its own cookies, on Square's website address, to keep payments secure and prevent fraud. When we checked Square's test environment on 31 October 2026 these were one Square cookie and one set by Cloudflare, the security service Square uses to tell people apart from automated traffic. We have not yet checked what Square's live payment form sets. We will check it once live payments start and update this policy if it differs. Square's privacy notice is at squareup.com/gb/en/legal/general/privacy.

Google Pay loads only if you choose it. Nothing from Google is loaded when a payment page opens: if you press "Use Google Pay", your browser then connects to Google, which may set or read its own cookies under its own cookie and privacy policies. If you pay by card, this doesn't happen.

On Apple devices, the payment page can check whether Apple Pay is available. If you use Apple Pay, Apple's own terms and privacy policy apply.

Our hosting provider's automatic security checks may set a cookie in your browser if they need to check that it isn't automated traffic. This is necessary to keep the website secure.

The map on our Visit Us page

Our Visit Us page shows a map provided by OpenStreetMap. When the map loads, your browser connects to OpenStreetMap's servers, which receive your IP address and basic browser information so they can send the map to your device.

When we checked on 31 October 2026, the map did not set any cookies or store anything in your browser. OpenStreetMap's own privacy policy is at osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy.

Managing cookies

You can view and delete cookies in your browser's settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the staff sign-in from working, can stop this browser remembering your bookings, and can stop online payments from working. Your booking itself is not affected, and the links in your booking emails still work.
